The Alton Fire Chief is putting out a call to all residents of the city to get their street number placed in a highly visible spot on their house.  The campaign is called "Help Us Find You," and is just getting started.  Alton Fire Chief Bernie Sebold says locating a home quickly can save precious minutes when someone is in need of help.

Sebold comments

In some cases, Sebold says a street with 15 homes has at least half without numbers.  Owner-occupied homes that meet certain financial levels may be eligible for free numbers.  The Alton Optimist's Club, realizing the importance of this campaign, has donated $100 to the cause, and St. Peter's Hardware has agreed to sell the numbers at cost, according to Sebold.  For more information, call the Alton Fire Department at 463-3565.
