The free concert series at the Alton Amphitheater continues tonight, and attendees may think they have entered a time warp that took them back to the 1980's. The radio-friendly power-pop music of Journey and Bon Jovi will be featured as a couple of tribute acts take the stage, beginning at 7pm.
The amphitheater is being promoted this year by Ken Krueger, the President of K Square Productions, and says "Stone In Love" will headline tonight's show.
The Think Floyd show kicked off the series in June and drew over 3,000 people, according to Krueger. He says attendance was down for the July show that featured former Altonian Andrea Young, which was right in the middle of the extreme heat wave. The headliner for the final concert in September is Shemekia Copeland - a blues musician fromChicago.
