The Alton City Council Committee of the Whole zipped through a light agenda Tuesday night, approving all items on the agenda.  There were lease agreements, bid approvals, and legal actions on the list, as well as one matter that will lead to the donating of an old police vehicle to a local tow yard.

Several years ago, Alton Memorial Hospital donated a Ford E350 to the police department for use as a transport vehicle for the Tactical Response Team, according to Captain Scott Waldrup (pictured).

The council also approved starting legal action against properties at 421 Mildred, 1318 Hampton and 315 Sering.  Lease agreements were approved with the Alton Regional Convention and Visitor's Bureau, Catholic Charities and Greater Alton Community Development.  Bids for asbestos removal at six properties were also given the go-ahead, as were the contracts for MFT materials.  All of these measures must meet with final approval at tonight's City Council meeting, which begins at 7:30 at City Hall. #cityofalton
