An attorney from Alton who is facing criminal drug charges has surrendered his legal license. 56 year old Brad Hunt took the action earlier this month through the Illinois Supreme Court. Hunt is charged with felony production of marijuana after police found 24 cannabis plants growing in a home he owns on Horn Street in Alton last August.
Hunt was already facing action from the Illinois Attorney Registration and Disciplinary Commission that claimed he kept $60,000 intended for a trust fund for a client for his own personal use. The commission contends Hunt used the money to pay taxes and part of his mortgage. His legal case is still pending in Madison County Court.
