Alton city officials are reminding dog and cat owners their pets must be registered by June 1 every year, and is offering an opportunity to pay those fees at a clinic coming up later this month. On Saturday, April 20, the Public Works Building on Emma Kaus Lane will host its annual animal clinic from 1-4pm.
Alton Animal Control Officer Steve Bosaw says there will also rabies and distemper shots given that day, at a price that beats most veterenarians. He says in addition to paying for your city tags, you can also pay your Madison County registration fees.
He also reminds you are supposed to clean up after your dog while walking through neighborhoods or parks, and reminds Alton has a leash law. Cat owners must prevent their cats from becoming a public nuisance, or risk being fined.
