The 6th annual Feed the Need concert to benefit the Senior Services Plus Meals on Wheels Program will get a little extra boost this year.  The headlining act was announced this morning on the Big Z, and this year it’s country music and bluegrass stars Alison Krauss and Union Station, featuring Jerry Douglas, on Saturday June 13 in Alton.

He’s talking about Mike Harmon, of the Harmon Family Bluegrass Band who will open the show.  Harmon, who toured with her band in the late 1980’s says it will be nice to bring her back to town with the full band:

The show on Saturday June 13 will take place at the Liberty Bank Alton Amphitheater, and the $40 general admission tickets go on sale March 6 through MetroTix.  Gates open at 5pm, The Harmons play at 7pm, with the headliners at 8:30pm.  For more information on show sponsorships, stop by or call Senior Services Plus at 465-3298 extension 100.
