Alton School District maintenance personnel are working to repair the gym floor at the high school after it suffered water damage earlier this month. Director of Building and Grounds David McClintock says they are simply using heat, and time, to bring the floor back to its original shape so teams can start using the facility again.
This is the second week the basketball teams have either had to move games to West Elementary School gymnasium or to other schools. McClintock says right now they’re trying to dry out the floor, so they’ve brought in more than a half dozen fans and cranked up the heat:

McClintock says as the humidity drops, the floor will dry and should go back into place without the need to replace any piece of damaged flooring.
