Another step toward the realization of Alton's Multi-Modal Transportation Center will be taken tomorrow.  The Committee of the Whole approved a resolution to allow the city to enter into a design services contract with Juneau Associates, Incorporated at its meeting last night.  The resolution was laid over two weeks ago so aldermen could take a closer look at the agreement.

The city has secured Juneau Associates, Incorporated as the design team to take the project to the next level.  Greg Caffey, Alton Director of Development and Housing, explains why he asked for a lay-over two weeks ago.

Caffey says after the first of the year they hope to have some preliminary design concepts that can be presented to the public for comment.  Alderman Mike Velloff raised some concerns over man-hours dedicated to the project and the corresponding costs, but Caffey feels those concerns have been addressed.
