A special agent for the Illinois State Police has been arrested for domestic violence.  Pete Goodman allegedly tried to strangle his girlfriend during an argument at his home in Waterloo Wednesday night.  Court documents also indicate Goodman forced the woman into the home, slammed her head into the side of the house, and threw her onto the living room floor.

State Police Director Hiram Grau calls the allegations disturbing and has relieved Goodman of all police powers, pending the outcome of the investigation.
