If you are shopping around for a homecare agency to take care of a loved one, there are several things you need to know, according to Senior Services Plus.  The Alton agency urges you to ask a lot of questions before coming to a decision on who you will hire to perform the work of tending to an aging or disabled family member’s needs.

Theresa Collins, Associate Executive Director at Senior Services Plus, says first and foremost, go through an agency rather than try and find an individual contractor.

And then, ask questions.  How long has the agency been in business?  Are they licensed and insured?  Does the agency meet with the potential client before services start?  Is the agency available during non business hours?  And what are your hiring practices in regards to convicted felons and drug screenings?
