Two appointments were made and one retirement was announced at the Bethalto Village Board of Trustees meeting last night. Also at the meeting two resolutions were voted on and passed, one of which was urging Illinois state leaders to release non-general fund revenue owed to the village. Several firefighters present were honored as well. Before Acting Fire Chief Alex Campbell was appointed as permanent fire chief he spoke about multiple fires that broke out a few weeks ago.

Chief Campbell's wife pinned his badge as he was voted into his new position. Rob Cheatham was appointed Public Works Director following Jay Kilmer's retirement from the job. Village Mayor Alan Winslow talks about the resolution urging state leaders to release funds owed to the village.

Winslow also announced the change in trash pickup goes into effect this week. Trash will now only be picked up once per week instead of twice.
