Jeffrey A. RyndersA 25-year-old Alton man charged with four felonies in connection with a fatal motorcycle accident at the entrance to the Clark Bridge has entered a not guilty plea.  Jeffrey A. Rynders of the 3200 block of Myrle Street appeared in Madison County Circuit Court on Friday.  He is charged with two counts of Aggravated DUI Causing Death, a single count of Aggravated DUI, and one count of Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance.

Police say he was driving the car that struck and killed 66-year-old Gary L. Wright of the 1,300 block of Miland Street in Wood River, and sent his wife Lora to a St. Louis hospital in critical condition.  A group of motorcyclists supporting the Wright family attended the appearance.  The wreck occurred at the entrance to the southbound lanes entering the bridge when the car apparently struck the motorcycle.  Rynders was detained by passersby on the parking lot of Riverbend Billiards, which is located down the embankment from where the accident happened.
