Police in East Alton are still looking for answers in connection with a reported child abduction in the village on September 6.  Authorities say witnesses told them they saw an older man force a young teen into a van near Murray Street and Grand around 5pm.

In a statement, police say they were notified of the alleged incident not long after it took place and began a search of the area.  Police Chief Darren Carlton tells The Big Z he still thinks it may have been a parent or legal guardian that grabbed the child.

The victim is reported to be a white male, 13 or 14 years old, darker hair that was short on the sides and longer on top and was wearing a red polo shirt and blue jean shorts.  Carlton says all students matching that description are accounted for.   If you have any information, you are asked to call East Alton Police at 259-6212.
