Members of the Alton Beautification and Clean City Committee have stayed busy throughout 2012, and the head of the committee is looking for more volunteers next year in order to take on more work.  The job of keeping the city picked-up is only a fraction of the work they do.  Committee Chairman Carolyn MacAfee says she has a wish list for 2013.

MacAfee comments

She says the work days that were scheduled last year were successful in cleaning up the islands in the downtown area, and would like to see the city eventually extend the islands further to the east along Broadway.  You can volunteer your time with the committee by calling the mayor's office at 463-3500, extension 3.
