Forecasters have toned down the snow coming today, although we could see up to an inch on grassy areas.  No matter what falls, the crews with the Illinois Department of Transportation are ready just in case. Due to the rain, road crews can’t treat roadways ahead of time so they are taking a wait and see approach.

Monroe asks motorists to give the plows plenty of room, as there have been car vs. plow accidents in many of the winter weather events last year.  IDOT runs a website to help you find out what road conditions are in real-time.  Go to
