Five Halloween Parades take place around the River Bend each year.  Two are in the books, as of last night, but there are two more tomorrow.  The oldest area parade will take place in Alton on Monday.  In addition, Hartford and Wood River will hold parades on Saturday.

East Alton and Bethalto held their parades last night.  The 26th Wood River Halloween Parade is on Saturday starting at 10:30am from Emerick Park on 6th Street to Ferguson to Wood River Avenue.  A parade will be held in Hartford this Saturday at 1pm beginning at Seventh Street Park, according to the Village's Deanna Barnes.

Barnes comments

The Grand Marshall of the Hartford Parade is Perry Dismore, who is not only pastor of the Hartford Assembly of God Church, but world record holder for most basketball free-throws in an hour.  The 95th Alton Halloween Parade is this Monday, beginning at 7:30pm from Alton Plaza parking lot west along Broadway, then north on Piasa Street.   Z-1570 will once again provide coverage of the Alton parade Monday night.
