The latest numbers reveal more than a-thousand homes were damaged in Washington when the tornado ripped through the Illinois town Sunday morning. That includes homes that were completely leveled and those that were just slightly damaged. Hundreds of people have been displaced.
Shelters have been set up in the area and relief organizations are providing food, clothing, toiletries, and other items to those who were impacted. The National Weather Service says the EF-4 twister had winds up to 190-miles-an-hour and stretched for 46-miles. One person was killed in Washington. Five other deaths were confirmed across the state.
