Looking back, the month of September turned out to be much cooler and wetter than normal according to numbers gathered by the state.   Illinois State Climatologist Jim Angel says the average temperature came in around 64-degrees.

October started out wet too, with some parts of central and southern Illinois receiving between four and eight inches of rain last week.  On the positive side, the extra rainfall has helped the state escape drought conditions this year.
