The faith-based community in Alton is stepping up to help keep students safe and promote making smart choices after high school football games. Calvary Baptist Church and Heartland Baptist Church have teamed up with the Drug Free Alton Coalition to put together a pair of events to keep students busy after some upcoming Alton High School varsity sports events.

Drug Free Alton Coalition Project Coordinator Melanie Nagel says the time period immediately following sporting events is considered “high risk” times for students.

The first 5th Quarter Party will take place from 9:30 p.m. until 11:30 p.m. at Calvary Baptist Church in Alton on Friday, October 17th. The second will take place in December at Heartland Baptist Church.
