The Alton Area Animal Aid Association puts dogs and cats in forever homes on a regular basis, but the cost to keep them fed and healthy until that time comes can be overwhelming at times.  The organization has several fundraising sources, including a thrift shop in Wood River.  That shop will soon be getting a holiday makeover.

The resale shop is located across from the Aquatic center.  5A’s Board President Carol Metzler says Sue Mueller will take over management of the shop.

She says the current shop hours of 10am-3pm on Tuesdays and Wednesdays and 12-4pm on Fridays will be greatly expanded after the shop reopens January 2.  The last day of business this year will be December 23, and that will feature a $2 bag sale, according to Metzler.
