The U.S. Air Force is planning to cut nearly 300-jobs at Scott Air Force Base in St. Clair County as part of a management review.  Overall, the Air Force plans to cut nearly 35-hundred jobs and save one-point-six-billion-dollars over the next five years.

It's not clear what jobs will be cut at Scott, but they will be a combination of military and civilian positions.  Air Force bases around the country and around the world will be affected by the projected cuts.
