Governor Pat Quinn and Illinois Secretary of Transportation Ann Schneider joined other state and local officials today for a ceremonial ribbon cutting to signify the completion of Illinois Route 255 from Seminary Road to Humbert Road in Godfrey. The section to Humbert road includes a new four-lane asphalt surface and an interchange at Humbert Road.
Governor Quinn Says today is a day worth celebrating:
Illinois Transportation Secretary Ann Schneider:
Schneider also commended the work of IDOT engineers who worked to resolve the water table issues that caused the pavement to sink and delayed the project by almost a year.
IDOT expects to open the final stretch of Route 255, which will connect with Illinois Route 111 just north of Village Hall in Godfrey sometime before Thanksgiving.
