Governor Pat Quinn and Illinois Secretary of Transportation Ann Schneider joined other state and local officials today for a ceremonial ribbon cutting to signify the completion of Illinois Route 255 from Seminary Road to Humbert Road in Godfrey. The section to Humbert road includes a new four-lane asphalt surface and an interchange at Humbert Road.

Schneider also commended the work of IDOT engineers who worked to resolve the water table issues that caused the pavement to sink and delayed the project by almost a year.

IDOT expects to open the final stretch of Route 255, which will connect with Illinois Route 111 just north of Village Hall in Godfrey sometime before Thanksgiving.
