Although it's been pretty dry lately in many parts of the state, this summer ended up being the sixth wettest on record in Illinois. State Climatologist Jim Angel says plenty of rain in the first part of the summer pushed us up in the rankings.

This June ended up being the wettest ever in Illinois, but August lagged behind with just under three inches of rain. Angel says forecasters are calling for a warmer and wetter September than usual.
