The Alton Area Animal Aid Association has been helping serve the Riverbend area since 1959 as a non-profit, no-kill Animal Shelter.  The ninth annual "Bark in the Park" is being held tomorrow (Sunday) at Godfrey's Glazebrook Park.  It is billed as a “friend-raiser” more so than a fund-raiser.

Ric Jun is the 5A's director, and says the shelter and the Godfrey Parks and Recreation Department are teaming up with several partners for an afternoon of fun for the whole family.  He tells The Big Z there are several special competitions for the dogs, including a new one called Smooch a Pooch.

Again, the 9th Annual "Bark in the Park" at Glazebrook Park is Sunday from Noon until 4pm.  The special competitions include the aforementioned Smooch a Pooch, Hot Dog Dip, Muttrageous, and the ever-popular Corn Cannon Challenge.
