The Hayner Public Library District, in partnership with the North Alton–Godfrey Business Council, Greater Gateway Association of Realtors, Andy’s Auto Body, Senior Services Plus, Liberty Bank, Strategic Consulting, Inc., and Tony’s North of Jerseyville, will provide sponsorship for the “Expressions—a Musical Experience” (formerly Jazz in the Park) Concert Series to be held May through September 2014.

All the concerts are free of charge and will be held at Alton Senior High Performing Arts Auditorium except the August 13 concert, which will be held at Hatheway Cultural Center, Lewis & Clark Community College. These programs of various jazz performances are a great way to spend a summer evening.

All concerts start at 7:00 p.m. The remainder of the summer schedule includes: 

• July 9 “A Tribute to the Rat Pack” featuring the Little Big Band and vocalist Steve Shininger
• August 13 “Sentimental Journey Dance Band”
• September 10 “St. Louis Symphony Ensemble”
• September 24 “Shades of Blue Jazz Big Band” featuring the world-renowned jazz ensemble from Scott Air Force Base.
