This program is designed to give teens the opportunity to gain experience in the field of recreation. Volunteers will work both at the RiverBender.com Community Center and at specified community events.

Responsibility, cooperation, leadership and dependability are just a few of the skills that you will gain from volunteering. This is a great opportunity to gain work experience and make new friends as well. This experience will prove valuable for the future.

Keep in mind that as a volunteer you represent RiverBender.com, a volunteer position at the Community Center is a privilege. Volunteers are expected to adhere to all Community Center rules and serves as a role model to their peer group. Volunteer assignments are based on maturity and ability and are left to the discretion of staff. Each applicant will be screened and orientated to assure that they maintain the proper conduct. Additionally, the Community Center staff reserves the right to deny admittance or remove existing teen volunteers due to inappropriate behavior.

Terms and Conditions:	Volunteers from the community are a valuable asset to the Riverbender.com Community Center. Their services are welcome and greatly appreciated. It is important they they have an understanding of the conditions under which their services are undertaken in the order to avoid misunderstanding and situations which might diminish mutual benefits of the program. Therefore, all applicants must read and agree to the following: 1. Volunteers are not covered under working compensation law. Riverbender.com assumes no responsibility for providing or paying for medical services for volunteers. 2. Volunteers are responsible for their own welfare and must observe rules and regulations of the Community Center with regard to safety. 3. Volunteers are not obligated to perform duties which they consider to be hazardous and are not obligated to use tools or equipment which they consider to be in unsafe condition. Although volunteers are not monetarily compensated, the individuals and their services do require the time of RiverBender.com personnel to orient, schedule and coordinate assignments. For this reason, each prospective volunteer must realize that there is an obligation to fulfill the pledge made to offer services for a certain period of time and do so in a conscientious manner. The understanding and acceptance of these conditions will be a major factor in promoting a worthwhile experience for all. 4.
